Krishna in charge

When the Pandavas return from exile, they decide to lay claim to their Kingdom.Yudhishthira decides that it is Lord Krishna who should go as their messenger to the kauravas.Yudishthira wants peace, and so he tells krishna to try for peace, even if Duryodhana refuses to give the kingdom to the Pandavas. But if all attempts at peace fail, then war is the only answer.

While each of the Pandava brothers gives his opinion to krishna,Sahadeva alone is silent.Krishna approaches Sahadeva and asks him why he has been silent.

Sahadeva has been silent because he is able to anticipate the outcome of Krishna's visit. It is clear to him that war is inevitable. What God has planned, can man undo?.

Draupadi is in tears, because she has vowed not to tie up her hair until those who humiliated her in Duryodhana's court have been killed. If Krishna's message of peace is accepted, then how will her vow be fulfilled?.Krishna reassures her that He knows what is going to happen.War will break out and her vow will be fulfilled.Sahadeva makes a request to Krishna. He asks that the lives of the Pandavas be spared in the war.Krishna grants him that wish.

Although the Pandavas think the Lord is doing their bidding, ultimately everything works only according to the Lord's plans.Krishna is the one who is always in charge of everything.

Even the day of departure, decided by Yudhishthira, works towards the failure of Krishna's mission. The day chosen by Yudhishthira might have been suitable for Krishna's star Rohini, but was it the best day for departure?

Krishna is going on behalf of Yudhishthira, not for Himself. So Yudishhthira should have chosen a day that would have suited his star, which was Jyeshta. But when something has been decreed by God, everything falls into place, and the events move towards war.

Duryodhana,by disrespecting Krishna, makes it unnecessary for the Lord to protect him.The lesson is that although we think we make decisions, life follows the path decided for us by God.
